SINGLE, SAVED & SATISFIED

Updated: Aug 25, 2020

In today's world, it's challenging to live single and saved; with all the secular influences that face Christian singles every day, the struggle to live a Godly life is real.

But as hard as it may be, it's not impossible. I believe that many singles struggle to live victorious Christian lives because they are looking at the world to give them a template for single living. This will not do for the Christian single. The manual for believers is the BIBLE, (The Word of God), not social media or Netflix.

Using the Bible as your manual for 'single' living will protect you from the enemy's plans to destroy you and give you guidance and instruction on how to live successfully. The Word of God is our blueprint for living. There is a remedy for every situation and direction for every problem faced by singles in the Word. The challenge then is to read it, meditate on it and OBEY it!

Believe me, it is possible to be single and satisfied, and it doesn't have to seem weird. See, discovering your purpose and what God's plan is for your life will lead to a place where you are to fulfill those plans. Being single is NOT A CURSE! It is NOT A DEATH SENTENCE!

However, if you desire to marry, rest assured that God will give you the desires of your heart. In His time, He will make all things beautiful. But please don't be anxious; there is no time restriction on being single. It is never too late. Not on God's Calendar at least. See with God, it's always on time. So wait on Him.

In 1 Corinthians 7, Paul says, "An unmarried woman is concerned with the cares of the Lord." That means, your devotion as single people should be solely about God. You are free, not all bound by the bondage of the things of married persons.

Being satisfied as a single involves loving yourself. Mark 12: 30-31, tells us, "Love your neighbour as yourself," which means that you only can love the other person in the capacity to which you love yourself. Self-love is essential, and it is okay. People that are negative all the time are people who don't love themselves. So you must take the time to learn yourself and fall in love with who you are. You are God's child, a virtuous woman and the more you know who you are, the more you will discover your value and worth. You are worth the BLOOD OF JESUS, and that value is high. When you love yourself, you will attract the right person.

Another way that brings satisfaction as a single person is redirecting your focus. What are you focusing on? Instead of focusing on trying to get hooked up with someone, focus on your Health. For example cutting sugar and red meat from your diet, coupled with exercising for at least 30 minutes a day. Change whatever you need to change to make you a healthier single person. Pay attention to your mental health and meditate at least 10 minutes a day. Get away from the noise, turn everything off and just mediation on things lovely, things that are pure and things of good report. Then focus on your wealth by finding ways to increase your income. Spend less and ave a bit more, especially during this pandemic.

Focus on your relationships by spending more time with those you love. Focus on your Spiritual Relationship with God through prayer and Bible study. I think we can all do a little more of that. Volunteering your time to community efforts is another way to refocus your life. The satisfaction you receive from seeing that you've helped can't ever be replaced.

The world has stopped just for us to refocus our lives. So don't allow these times to slip by unnoticed. Use it for developing those areas of your life that need a little work. By doing the work, you are advancing yourself in so many areas. Then, before you know it, being single won't seem as bad.
