Loving Yourself Enough To Care For You!

Loving yourself simply means to accept yourself as you are and to come to terms with those aspects of yourself that you cannot change. It means to have self-respect, a positive self-image and unconditional self-acceptance. However, this is by no means an excuse for being arrogant, conceited or thinking that you are better than anyone else. It just means that you have a healthy regard for yourself and that you are a worthy human.

Every now and again, it is important to remind yourself that no one is perfect. We all have strengths and weaknesses. Remember you are not perfect, so stop being so hard on yourself. Each of us is unique and has specific talents and abilities to offer. Because you are here, you have something to offer.

In order to appreciate yourself the way you should, it is up to you to discover what makes you unique and to further develop those talents. It is our responsibility to do it for ourselves.

You cannot just sit around and wait for approval from others. Work on accepting yourself, you are the only ‘you’ that you have and it is in your interest to be the ‘best you’ that you can be.

Not loving yourself means that you won’t be able to love anyone else. You can only love another to the degree that you do yourself. So let’s talk about how to do this.

By investing in and working on your personal growth and development, you will endeavour to take care of yourself physically, mentally and emotionally. If you haven’t been loving yourself enough, start today to take care of your body, mind and spirit. You will not only become more self-aware, but you will generate feelings of worth and accomplishment.

The way you take care of your body is by eating well, exercising and getting plenty of rest. There are many wonderful books available that can help you learn what types of food and exercise are good for you and your particular body type. Now everybody type is different. We are not all a size 8. We are all different. I was born a pump little baby and grew into a plump little girl. I don’t seek to be a size 8; in fact, I don’t think I would look good as a size 8. But I want is to live a long healthy life. I want to be able to run around outside with my children, so that means I have to exercise and eat properly to ensure I am well to do that.

Your mind needs nourishment and exercise as well. Don’t take it for granted. Stimulate it by learning about new and interesting things. Keeping your mind active helps prevent certain old age diseases such as Alzheimer’s and dementia. Now don’t forget that focusing on things that are positive, is what we are to be allowing our mind to work on. Get rid of the negative thinking and replenish your mind with good and pleasant thoughts.

Now if you spend all the time taking care of your mind and body but neglect your spirit, you will lack balance and feel that something is missing in your life. Taking care of your spirit rejuvenates you and helps you deal with the daily stresses and challenges of everyday life. Prayer, Word and Worship is necessary for every believer to meet their fullest potential.

When you love yourself, you invest in your personal growth and development. So be the best you can be and strive every day to achieve your potential. I see you in the future and you look much better than you do right now.
